The Port Macquarie Marine Discovery Centre is dedicated to providing opportunities for young people to discover and appreciate the marine environment, and gain a better understanding of the challenges faced by man's impact on our coasts and ocean.
Our Vision
To provide an opportunity for visitors to the Marine Discovery Centre to explore a range of activities related to the Marine Environment.
Objectives
Visitors to the PMMDC will develop:
- Skills to safely engage in marine-based activities
- Knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the marine environment of the NSW mid-north coast and beyond
- Knowledge and understanding of conservation matters and issues of sustainable use of our marine resources
Legal Structure
The Port Macquarie MDC is an annex of Newman Senior Technical College, which is one of the St Agnes Parish Secondary Schools, Port Macquarie.
Our Location
We can be found adjacent to the Port Macquarie airport. It is just a short stroll from the Centre along Boundary Street to the banks of the beautiful Hastings River.
